Executive Vice President – Compliance
Ebru Basaran-Shull is the Executive Vice President – Compliance, leading the Compliance Department at Sargento with the vision to be the most innovative, best-loved real food company.
In this role, Ebru is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing compliance strategies, initiatives, controls, and processes by providing expertise and leadership in specific focus areas in collaboration with other functions across the organization. She also oversees Food Safety and Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Environmental, and Social Compliance. Ebru is a strategic thinker that has a proven ability to effectively balance business savvy with substantive, thorough regulatory counsel.
Since 2012, Ebru has had an outsized impact serving the entire Sargento Family. Preceding her role as Deputy General Counsel and Vice President - Compliance, Ebru served as the Director, Compliance and Government Affairs, where she began to build the Sargento compliance program from scratch. Ebru is highly regarded by her entire team and is revered as an influential confidant and mentor throughout the organization.
With a demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning, Ebru currently holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Engineering from the Middle East Technical University, a Master of Jurisprudence in Global Food Law from Michigan State University, and Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola University School of Law.
Additionally, as a sought-after speaker on compliance and regulatory matters, she has served as the chairperson of several high-profile educational conferences attended by other large food company attorneys and compliance professionals. She is also engaged in pro bono work with Safe Harbor of Sheboygan County, Renters’ Eviction Assistance Program in Sheboygan, and the American Bar Association - Wisconsin Chapter, providing free legal advice to low-income clients. She has been a speaker on diversity for Leadership Program by the Sheboygan County Chamber since 2017.
She currently lives in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, where she enjoys spending time with her husband Ron and their daughter Ada.
