Touchdowns for Hunger™ supports Hunger Task Force and Paul’s Pantry
Packers, Sargento Foods Inc. Will Continue ‘Touchdowns for Hunger’ Donation Through the NFL Playoffs
Following another successful season of Touchdowns for Hunger resulting in a donation of $88,000, Sargento Foods Inc. will continue donating $2,000 for every Packers touchdown during the NFL playoffs. The Packers ended the regular season with 44 touchdowns. Since partnering with the Packers more than 20 years ago, Sargento - the Official Cheese of the Green Bay Packers – has contributed more than $1.8 million to fight hunger in Wisconsin.
“We’re proud to continue our partnership with the Green Bay Packers who share our commitment to our community,” said Louie Gentine,3rd generation CEO of Sargento Foods. “We’re also proud of how ‘Touchdowns for Hunger’ has become an important way for us to make a real impact by raising awareness of hunger and food insecurity in Wisconsin while providing financial support for non-profits that have amazing staff and volunteers who feed families in need.”
‘Touchdowns for Hunger’ benefits Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee and Paul’s Pantry in Green Bay who are Wisconsin’s anti-hunger leaders.
“We were thrilled to toast to the 21st anniversary of Sargento’s Touchdowns for Hunger program!” said Sherrie Tussler, chief executive officer at Hunger Task Force. “The annual donation we receive through ‘Touchdowns for Hunger’ directly supports Milwaukee’s network of emergency food pantries, soup kitchens and homeless shelters. Due to the generosity of the Gentine Family and the hard work of Sargento employees, Hunger Task Force operates Milwaukee’s only Free and Local food bank in service to people in need. We are thrilled to benefit from this amazing tradition of generosity.”
“Touchdowns for Hunger continues to have a massive impact on families in need,” said Craig Robbins, executive director of Paul’s Pantry. “This past year, we served more families and handed out more food than at any point during our 40-year history. We could not have done that without the amazing support from generous partners like Sargento and the Packers. We are so honored to work with community-minded organizations like Sargento and the Packers! We look forward to cheering on the Packers as they score even more ‘Touchdowns for Hunger’!”

About Paul’s Pantry Inc.:
Paul’s Pantry was started as a result of a need to care for hungry people in the community who are unable to purchase enough food for their family as a result of their meager or no incomes. Paul’s Pantry though, is more than just an emergency food pantry. Its goal is to provide a family with enough food every week, for as long as needed, so that they may use their food dollars for shelter, utilities and other necessities, and avoid becoming homeless. Paul’s Pantry, founded in 1984, has grown to be Wisconsin’s largest food pantry, distributing 14,000 lbs. of groceries each day, five days a week. Visit us at Paul's Pantry.org
